October 7, 2019

On 10/3/2019 at approximately 3:40pm, units were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Rutherford St. for a report of a structure fire. On arrival, units encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions. The fire was declared under control within 30 minutes of arrival.

While the home was severely damaged, the occupants were able to escape the home with no injuries reported.

Always have an escape plan for your home, as these occupants did. It will save time, effort, and, most importantly, lives in the event of a fire. Check, inspect and maintain all of your home's systems regularly, such as natural gas, LPG, and electrical utilities.
