February 6, 2018

At approximately 7:05 a.m. Blacksburg fire department was dispatched to the vicinity of the 1500 Block of West Cherokee Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival with EMS a single occupant of a black SUV was located at the site. Thankfully the patient sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to the hospital.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle had been struck from behind by another vehicle which had left the scene after the Collision. The vehicle that left the scene left behind residue from their vehicle. The highway patrol arrived on scene and relieved Blacksburg fire after EMS departed with the patient.

All Blacksburg units were clear of the scene at approximately 7:30 a.m.
