On October 15th at approximately 9:50 a.m. Blacksburg Fire Personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 18 and Bridges Road to establish a landing Zone for two patients who have been involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Personnel quickly establish a landing Zone and assisted in the landing of two helicopters which were critical to the transport of two seriously injured patients. Unfortunately one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the incident.

We are always willing and ready to assist our neighbor departments for any and all types of mutual Aid. We will keep the deceased person in our thoughts and hope for a speedy recovery for the other two.
