On February 25th at approximately 10:15 p.m. Blacksburg fire department was dispatched Mutual Aid with Upstate Carolina EMS referencing a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival firefighters and medics discovered two patients with obvious injury. One patient sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center from lenzer Circle, where other Blacksburg units has established a landing zone for Regional One.

This is an active case as of the publication of this article. The Blacksburg Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office are investigating. Any questions pertaining to this incident will be forwarded to those law enforcement agencies.
