At approximately 5:00pm, Blacksburg Fire Department responded with Antioch and CKC fire departments referencing an 18 Wheeler.

Upon arrival, the vehicle was located at mile marker 104 facing north bound on the southbound size of Interstate 85. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, contracted patient assessment, and extricated the entrapped driver after approximately 30 minutes.

The driver sustained moderate injuries, and was air lifted by Regional to Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg SC.

The SCHP is investigating.
